Flying taxis: Volocopter has raised another $241M

The German flying taxis startup Volocopter has raised another phenomenal amount of $241M, in a series D round. In 2019, the company has raised $94M in a series C round, and said that the services will be available in three years. Now, they will be available in two years - the company claims. The previous raising round included diverse investors, such as the Japanese Tokyo Century, the global Atlantia SpA. and some family offices.

 

The real estate tech startup which goes public, and prepares accordingly

The startup States Title has changed its name to Doma, and has recently announced that it is about to merge with SPAC Capitol Investment Corp. V, as part of a deal valued at $3B. Doma will go public accordingly. The company will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the DOMA symbol. Doma has developed patented ML technology which reduces, according to the company, the title processing time from 50 days to one minute, and which cuts the mortgage closing process time from more than 50 days to less than a week. 

Report: Alibaba’s startup investments amount was cut in half

Following the recent moves of the Chinese government against big companies and specifically against Alibaba, which included an anti-monopoly investigation against the company, it was reported that Alibaba invested $2.7M only in startups between November 2020 and the end of February 2021, compared to $6M which were invested by it in the same period last year.
